YouTube: Easier to livestream via webcam
YouTube is now making it easier to live stream from a PC, with a particularly practical update to its site.
So, instead of the user having to deploy a separate encoder, all that is needed now is Chrome and a webcam. So after visiting youtube.com/webcam (or clicking the 'Go live' button) you'll be ready for livestreaming in just a few seconds.
The company hopes that vloggers will now broadcast live along with uploading videos. YouTube also says that the feature will soon be compatible with other browsers, and will also add support for livestreaming directly from the phone's camera app – this feature is expected to come to select models from Asus, LG, Motorola, Nokia and Samsung.
Livestreaming will be available worldwide, but first the user needs to be identified through their phone number and access will be granted within 24 hours. After that, the user will receive a link that he can share with those who follow him, so that they can watch his shows at any time.
